By plane:
Arriving at Duesseldorf International Airport, take commuter train S11 to Düsseldorf main station (Hbf), leaving from airport underground station every 20 minutes (at daytime), at main station transit to S1 going to Solingen. Tickets available from vending machines on the platform. Choose an "A" ticket (EUR 2.30 per January 2011) or the correct destination code. Please remember to stamp your ticket BEFORE entering the train (orange or blue box next to ticket vending machine). Exit the train at station "Düsseldorf-Eller" (see map at bottom of this page) and walk 5 minutes to our office. Total travel time is ~30 minutes, just as fast a taxi. An "A" ticket is valid for 90 minutes and takes you to any place within the city limits (no need to buy another ticket at the main station).
Alternative Airports:
Arriving at Cologne/Bonn Airport (Germanwings), take an ICE or RE train to Düsseldorf Hbf, travel time approx. 40 min, runs once per hour, may require transit at Cologne main station - Cologne Airport website
Arriving at Dortmund Airport (Easyjet), use a taxi or shuttle bus to main station (20 min), then take an ICE or RE train to Düsseldorf Hbf, travel time approx. 60 min, trains run frequently - more about Dortmund Airport
Arriving at Weeze Airport (Ryanair), use a shuttle bus to Weeze train station, then take an RE train to Düsseldorf Hbf, travel time approx. 70 min, runs every 30 minutes - more about Weeze Airport
Arriving at Frankfurt Airport (all airlines), take an ICE train to Düsseldorf Hbf, travel time approx. 80 min, train runs frequently
By train:
Arriving at Düsseldorf main station (Hbf), take commuter train S1 going to Solingen. As before, exit the train at station "Düsseldorf-Eller", total travel time is approx. 10 minutes. You will need an "A" ticket" for the train as well.
As an alternative, use subway U75 (basement of main station) going to Eller/Vennhauser Allee, walk 2 minutes to our office. Ticket required is again the same "A" type as before. Click on this link to find more information on local and regional trains.
By car:
Coming from Cologne, follow Autobahn A59 north
Coming from Dortmund/Wuppertal, follow A46 west
Coming from NL/Oberhausen, follow A3 south to junction A46 (Hilden), change to A46 west (Neuss)
Coming from Belgium/Aachen, follow A57 direction Cologne (Köln) to junction Neuss-Süd, change to A46 east (Wuppertal)
In all cases use take exit Düsseldorf-Eller (26), follow the 4-lane street northbound (Deutzer Strasse/Heidelberger Strasse) to SHELL station, make right turn, take the second left (Krippstrasse), then take the first left at Pharmacy (Apotheke), Vohwinkelallee No. 8 is on the righthand side of the street (see map below).
